I don’t know where to start.

Many months ago, pastor Rogers (Belfast) told Pablo and me about this women’s conference in Malawi, and that he though pastor Mvula (Malawi) wanted us not only to pray for it but also to send people to participate in it.

My immediate reaction was “I WANT TO GO!” and Pablo was as excited as I was.

So we pray for many months and we waited for God to give us an answer.

Finally everything was in the right place, Liz realised that God was calling her too and even though she was concerned about her parents that she looks after, she acted in obedience and in faith, so she said YES.  So we started preparing everything to go.

For me this was the first wonderful thing about this trip, I was about to spend time and learn from this godly woman whom I admired but didn’t really knew in a deep and personal way, and I wasn’t disappointed, Liz was the perfect person to go to Malawi, women loved her and she gave it all! Liz is the kind of person that will be very concern about your feelings and how she can help you and at the same time she has the revelation that sometimes helping someone means you have to tell them something they may not like.  I am not like that, I think sometimes I don’t say certain things just because I want people to like me, she wouldn’t compromise the truth just to be accepted.

Anyway that is Liz, and I was very happy to do this with her.

Pastor Rogers went to Malawi several times and he knew what pastor Mvula was expecting from us; was just few days before travelling that I found out that we were not only going to participate in the conference but that Liz and I were the main and only speakers!

We didn’t freak out, we knew it wasn’t about us, it was God’s conference and He would do what was needed.

After three airplanes and 24 hs of travelling we arrived to Malawi, we were very welcomed.

A beautiful surprise was to see that the conference was not only for Malawi’s women but also we had women from Mozambique and Zimbabwe! There were around a hundred women.

Before travelling I felt the need of buying Bibles, one of the men at church (Tomy) have been in Malawi before and he told us that it was better to buy them there, excellent advise!

Pastor Mvula asked the ladies who knew how to read in Chichewa (their language) and among those who didn’t have a Bible.  The number reached around 30 ladies.

It was amazing how God provided the right amount of money for us to buy those Bibles! We had to look after our expenses after it because we run out of money, but we were so happy!

When we gave the Bibles to the women, they seemed very surprised, it wasn’t after later that they expressed their joy, we were impacted specially for one of them who told us that she was teaching Sunday’s school and that from now on she would be able to do it with this Bible, we couldn’t help to think how on earth did she managed to teach without a Bible?!

Then another miracle happened, Mvula had told me that my debit card would not work there, and that I shouldn’t try because I could lose it, but the thing is that we had no more money and I had felt in love with the children’s Bible that was just lovely for older children and teens, so after much talk I took courage and I try to use the ATM machine, and guess what? IT WORKED!!! We were so happy with Liz now we could buy more Bibles and we weren’t worry about not having any money for food, we could eat !!! Praise the Lord!

So finally, at the end, the number of ladies without Bibles was not 30 but 45, and Praise the Lord we could afford all of them AND ten Bibles for children/teens in their own language and beautiful presentation, very good quality, I have to say that we thank God very much for the wonderful work Bible society is doing in Malawi, just for you to have an idea the price of a Bible there is around 4 £ and is the best quality.  Children Bibles are a little bit more because they have pictures and they have hard cover.

We know many people in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe don’t read, so we encourage the women who received the Bibles to go to their friends, family and neighbours and spend time with them reading their new Bibles, and together growing in the knowledge of God.

It was so nice to hear them saying at the end of the conference when they were giving feedback about everything that happened that they never expected to go home with a Bible of their own and that they know that they also leave with a responsibility to share this gift with everyone around them.

I know that everything went so well because so many people were praying! We didn’t get sick, we didn’t have any accident, everything absolutely everything went just right, and we could feel the cover of the saints’ prayers.  Thank you.

And to finish this report I would like to say, that as every time we do something in partnership with God, we get the best part! For me this was a kind of retreatment, I love Pablo and Priscila, I like my job, and I try to do the house chores with joy but with this trip I got kind of a “honeymoon” with Jesus, it was a special time just Him and me, I didn’t have TV, no secular book, no interruptions, no meals to prepare, no laundry, only talks with Liz and they were wonderful and Christians of course! So I would spend time preparing the teachings or teaching, eating, resting, and as time for relaxation would watch a preaching in the computer, it was fabulous! I felt so good, like “this is the right way of living” I understood what Paul meant by recommending the Christians not to get married.  But as soon as the conference was over, I couldn’t wait to come back home to see Pablo and Priscila, I think that was another miracle, God granted me peace of mind and concentration for the task and right after it was over I was concerned about them and missing them terrible, I couldn’t wait to come back home to them.

I thank God for my family and this amazing opportunity He gave me to see what He is doing in Africa, and I can’t express with words how happy I am that He would use me to speak to people all over the world. Praise the Lord!

King’s Way Church has connection with a pastor in Malawi, Africa. Victoria and Liz, the wife of one of the Church’s elder, travelled there this week to lead a women’s Conference. We ask you please be praying for the visit, that God will be glorify in the teaching and that we will get more involved with the Church in that country.

Victoria junto a Liz, la esposa de uno de los ancianos de la Iglesia, viajaron y esta misma semana están ofreciendo una conferencia para mujeres alli. Les pedimos por favor que estén orando por la visita para  que Dios se glorifique en la enseñanza y para que nos involucremos mas con la Iglesia en ese país.

We finally met with people of Wycliffe UK. We were told that we are in the right path, that we continue our stage of preparation. Using my experience in video, along with Nathan from the Northern Ireland Office we are producing a material for an event in October. Please pray that the Lord will guide us in this work and the video helps to motivate and give vision to more people about Bible translation.

Nos reunimos con la gente de Wycliffe UK. Nos dijeron que estamos en el camino correcto, que sigamos en nuestra etapa de preparación. Usando mi experiencia en video, junto a Nathan de la oficina de Irlanda del Norte estamos produciendo un material para un evento en octubre. Oren por favor para que el Señor nos guíe en este trabajo y el video ayude a motivar y dar visión a más personas acerca de la traducción Bíblica.

En Septiembre retomamos nuestros estudios en el Instituto Bíblico.

We rejoice and give thanks God for King’s Way Church. We are involved in various activities of the Church in particular with a team ofadvanced trying to reach a neighbourhood near where we live.

Two weeks ago we were in Millom, England working with a local Church. We had a beautiful time with the group and the people of the Church. They were four intense days. We could have very good conversations with the people, especially with young people during our outings to the town. Pray God to send a person assisting Pastor Fred to start working with adolescents.

Nos gozamos y agradecemos a Dios por la Iglesia de King’s Way. Desde que llegamos a Belfast Dios nos mostró claramente que ese era el lugar donde nos teníamos que congregar. Los dos estamos involucrados en distintas actividades de la Iglesia en especial con un equipo de avanzada tratando de alcanzar un barrio cerca de donde vivimos. Hace dos semanas estuvimos en Millom, Inglaterra trabajando con una Iglesia local. Tuvimos un tiempo hermoso entre el grupo y la gente de la Iglesia. Fueron cuatro días súper intensos. Logramos tener muy buenas conversaciones con la gente, en especial con los jóvenes durante nuestras salidas a la calle. Oren para que Dios envíe una persona para ayudar al Pastor Fred a iniciar un trabajo con los adolescentes.
